THE BOYS OF BEAST was part of Portfringe, a fringe theater festival in Portland, Maine. The idea started when I kept having dreams with the Beastie Boys and I said I was going to create an audio-only unauthorized Beastie Boys Biography, that you could only rap. Although I ditched the "audio-only" part, it motivated me to write an hour long stage show based loosely on the Beastie Boys lives--with my own interpretation from actual interviews, imagination, rumors, the way LL Cool J remembers things and some truth. The show was divided into "Chapters" (skits) and hosted by their friend LL Cool J (played by rapper B. Aull) and featured The Beastie Girls and The Beastie Boys' Wives--with special guest Vanilla Ice. 

We had a great time with the promo photos and our own version of the Sabotage Video. The live show had so much beer-spillage and the audience yelling at LL Cool J! (I mentioned this is a comedy?). I'm so grateful the Beastie Boys are such funny, caring guys and I hope if they ever see this, they know how much love we have for them!

Portfringe was named One of 9 Intriguing Fringe Festivals by CNN.
